Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
This is a powerful verse. It's short and easy to memorize. It's a good verse to hide in our heart. And the best thing about it is that it really works! I find it impossible to have an anxious thought when my mind is thinking about Jesus and all that God has done for me.
The reason this verse works is because God said it will. That’s all there is to it. When God makes a promise we can count on it. I used to think this verse was not possible for me. But... when I really put it to the test, I found that it was my choice all along. Once again I have to do my part.
I must keep my mind stayed on thee.
There will always be situations happening that can cause worry. We can't stop them. But... we can choose to turn our mind instantly to God and take captive our own thoughts. The Bible says every thought. II Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God , and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
Part of having perfect peace is trusting in the fact that, no matter what happens God knows about it. He cares and has a purpose for everything He allows to happen. Sometimes it may just be that the potter is working on the clay. Isaiah 64:8 “But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we are the work of thy hand.”
Nothing takes our heavenly Father by surprise. Sometimes we ignore this fact when things don’t work out the way we thought they should or the way we thought would be best.
That’s pride in our heart and it's the very time we need to put into practice, casting down those imaginations and high things in our thoughts! They will just steal our perfect peace anyway. II Corinthians 10:5 I have to remind myself that I am the clay and He is the potter. The potter knows best and can see things the clay cannot see. The potter knows what he wants the end product to look like.
It is amazing how longsuffering God is with us and how precise and personal He is when dealing with our hearts. I don’t think I will every get over the fact that the creator of the universe is thinking of me. Psalm 8:4 “ What is man that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man that thou visitest him?”
I wonder often, what our lives would be like, if we just took God at His Word and believed all of it no matter what. I'm sure we would have more peace than we ever dreamed possible. This is what it means to live and walk in His Spirit. When thinking about verses like... that walk uprightly.”
I can’t help but feel at peace when I submit myself to Biblical thinking. What precious promises from God! As Christians we have so much good available to us. If we will humble ourselves and do our part...
Perfect peace is available. Isaiah 26:3 Peaceful thinking can be a way of life. II Corinthians 10:5 Personal and unique, one on one molding from the Master Potter can be ours. Isaiah 64:8
Protection from our enemy is available. James 4:7-8 Provision and pleasure is ours when we are walking uprightly. Psalm 84:11 Even in the valley and in times of chastening God has promised to never forsake us. Hebrews 13:5 “ Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have; for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. "
What more could we ask for? God is so good to us!!!
I love you all.

I have taken the time to read this column three times now. Each time the Lord speaks to my heart in a different way. I love it that His thoughts for my life are never ending. I need to have Him speak them to my heart...over and over. Thanks for being used of the Lord so I could hear His thoughts once again. I sure do love you.
