A note from The Beautiful For Thee Editor:

The thoughts presented from Dianne on Choice Silver, come from her personal experience from her bed of affliction. She lives with physical debilitation, every day. Pain and weakness are her constant companions. Her words of wisdom are not the empty babblings of pious Christianity, but truth learned first hand. Her faith is real. Most days, that is all she has to lean on. Because of adversity…she is growing strong in the Lord and she inspires me.

May all who read her thoughts, be blessed and challenged.

Listening and Following

John 10: 27 "My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me."

This verse has become such a comfort to me. It's a "done deal" kind of verse. So many voices are clamoring to be heard in our life each day. Everything from the music played in restaurants and stores, to the abundance of entertainment in television and movies and all that it has to offer us. Just go shopping and try to stick strictly to your list. There is so much for our eyes see and want. It can almost become overwhelming at times.

I'm reminded me of the account in I Kings when Elijah was running from wicked Jezebel and ended up hiding in that cave. The Lord came and spoke to him there.

I Kings 19: 11-12 " And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount
before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and break in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake: but the Lord was not in the earthquake; And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice."

Our Heavenly Father's voice has not changed. It never will. You will hear it in quiet moments spent with Him, reading His Word and learning about Him and His ways. You will hear it in time spent praising Him, because He is so wonderful and worthy of all our praise. You will hear it when you spend time in honest prayer talking to Him about ... everything.

I think of one of the songs we like to sing. It goes like this.... "Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face; And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace."

The voice of this world can scream out all it has to offer, as loud as it wants to. But if our mind is stayed on the Lord, His still small voice will be all we hear.

Love, Dianne
