A note from The Beautiful For Thee Editor:

The thoughts presented from Dianne on Choice Silver, come from her personal experience from her bed of affliction. She lives with physical debilitation, every day. Pain and weakness are her constant companions. Her words of wisdom are not the empty babblings of pious Christianity, but truth learned first hand. Her faith is real. Most days, that is all she has to lean on. Because of adversity…she is growing strong in the Lord and she inspires me.

May all who read her thoughts, be blessed and challenged.

Don’t Give Up the Ship!

Psalm 37:25 “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”

I read this verse today and thought to myself...I've never seen the righteous forsaken either.  From the outside looking in it might look like some righteous people have been forsaken, but if you talk to them you will find out that it's simply not true.

There is something special that can happen in the life of a Christian when it seems all hope is gone. When all hope is gone, you will find that God is still there. Hebrews 13:5 tells us that He will never leave us or forsake us. I'm learning that the Christian life is not about enduring to the end, it's about a steadfast faith in my God who will never leave me. Faith in God and His Word can carry us through
anything and everything.

Faith rejoices when there seems to be no answer.

Faith praises God when the answer is no.

Faith keeps our heart and mind fixed when the storm is raging strong.

Faith waits on the Lord.

Psalm 27:14 “ Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”

My heart is so burdened for young people who will not wait on the Lord. They want what they want and will go out and get it at all cost.   Why not just wait on the Lord and delight yourself in Him. Psalm 37:4 “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

Faith believes this verse!

I've read these verses in Habakkuk many times and have thought about them a lot.  It sounds like God has forsaken this man. It doesn't look like anything is going well for him at all.  Habakkuk 3:17 “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls." Seems like everything he worked so hard for had failed and there was nothing left. I've learned so much from his response in verse 18.

Habakkuk 3:18 “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”

This is what happens in the heart of a Christian who has faith that God has not forsaken them. Their faith produces joy in the God of their salvation. The devil would like us to believe that God's Word is not true. Hard times that seem to have no end does not mean God has left us. God always has a purpose and plan. God will not forsake us. He knows exactly where we are.

Job 23:10 “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

Whether you come forth as gold or fall flat on your face. God has still promised He will never forsake you.

Psalm 71:14 “But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.”
