A note from The Beautiful For Thee Editor:
The thoughts presented from Dianne on Choice Silver, come from her personal experience from her bed of affliction. She lives with physical debilitation, every day. Pain and weakness are her constant companions. Her words of wisdom are not the empty babblings of pious Christianity, but truth learned first hand. Her faith is real. Most days, that is all she has to lean on. Because of adversity…she is growing strong in the Lord and she inspires me.
May all who read her thoughts, be blessed and challenged.
Simple Thoughts About Life…and Eternity…
Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
I know this is going to sound weird to some, but yesterday, on my 40 minute drive home from
Grand Forks to the little town we live in, something unusual happened. I love this drive because
it gives me time to spend with the Lord and with my family when they are with me.
On my way home yesterday, I noticed these pretty white butterflies. They were everywhere!
They caught my attention because of the magnitude of them. It almost looked like it was snowing at times. Hundreds maybe thousands of them were flying around my car and also into my car!
After awhile it started to kind of gross me out. From time to time I would hear a little thud and then see the cute little butterfly float dead to the ground. I almost pulled over because it was really bothering me that so many of them were flying carelessly into my car, to meet their death! That is when Matthew 7:13-14 came to my mind.
I think my heart broke into a thousand pieces as I began to think of those butterflies…. as the souls of people! So many are still on the broad road! So many are still lost and carelessly heading for a Christ-less eternity. Am I praying for them? Do I even care? It bothers me to watch people young and old, say no to God week after week. They go through life in a careless manner, seemingly unaware of the destruction ahead. But, it is coming! God's Word said it is!
There is a narrow way that leads to life and Jesus is that way.
John 14: 6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
I am praying for those on the broad road--- that very soon they will start seeking for that narrow way…. before it is eternally to late. If you are one who is uncertain of where you will spend eternity….please don’t let yourself carelessly fly through this life without making certain of where you are headed when your eternity arrives.
