A note from The Beautiful For Thee Editor:

The thoughts presented from Dianne on Choice Silver, come from her personal experience from her bed of affliction. She lives with physical debilitation, every day. Pain and weakness are her constant companions. Her words of wisdom are not the empty babblings of pious Christianity, but truth learned first hand. Her faith is real. Most days, that is all she has to lean on. Because of adversity…she is growing strong in the Lord and she inspires me.

May all who read her thoughts, be blessed and challenged.

Do You Know How To Sing?

Psalm 137:4 "How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land?"

This verse reminded me of the song "This World is Not My Home." It reminded me once again, that we are strangers and pilgrims in this world. I'm not supposed to feel at home here!  I am just passing through.

Hebrews 11:10  "For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God."

Sometimes I just want to go home to Heaven. I get tired of fighting my flesh. Sometimes I feel my heart getting hard and I start to get critical and judgmental of those around me that don't seem to care much for living God's way.

Matthew 24:12 "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."

This is just the way things are in our world and even among many Christians today. Everything from the music played in stores, the magazines at the check out line, to the way people dress these days, cries out for our attention. I don't want to give these things a moment of my time and yet... It's right in our face!  We have no choice… we must fight against it!

I Peter 2:11  "Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;"

I'm so thankful that God did not leave us here to fend for ourselves. He gave us armor, a protection for our body, soul and spirit.  Then He tells us what to do with it!

Ephesians 6:11  "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

I'm also so very thankful He has given us a Comforter.  His own precious Holy Spirit!

John 14:16-18  "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."

What a promise!

As bad as I just want to go to heaven and be with the One who saved me, I have to remember that I am left here for a purpose. God has a plan for me every day, even in my weak, physically sick state of being. He wants me to reach the lost that He has for me to reach. So I must not allow my love to wax cold and I cannot give up now!

Matthew 9:37  "Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;"

It may be that laborers are few because so many Christians just give up!

We have to tell those who don't know yet, that Jesus loves them.

I Peter 3:15  "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:"

Maybe the cares of this life are getting the best of you. Maybe you have fallen down for the hundredth time and don't feel you have the strength to get back up. Maybe you are physically and emotionally tired. Maybe your faith is small. As they say... this too shall pass. It isn't always raining. There are sunny days too.

Trust God and take your refuge in the shadow of His wings.

Psalm 57:1  "Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast."

Don't give up now!

Galatians 6:9  "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. IF WE FAINT NOT."

We can sing the Lord's song in this strange land. We can praise God every where we go. We can give thanks no matter what. We can make a difference in our home and in our town.

Psalm 18:49  "Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name."

Luke 1:37  "For with God nothing shall be impossible."

and...

Philippians 4:13   "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

God wants to hear you sing!   So….LET'S SING!

You are so right especially in this sin sick place. People need God, but refuse to listen. You can see the need in there eyes and hear it in the things they say. You are an encouragement to me My Love
