A note from The Beautiful For Thee Editor:

The thoughts presented from Dianne on Choice Silver, come from her personal experience from her bed of affliction. She lives with physical debilitation, every day. Pain and weakness are her constant companions. Her words of wisdom are not the empty babblings of pious Christianity, but truth learned first hand. Her faith is real. Most days, that is all she has to lean on. Because of adversity…she is growing strong in the Lord and she inspires me.

May all who read her thoughts, be blessed and challenged.

A Christ Filled Christmas

Luke 2: 1-7 1 "And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)  And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem;  (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.   And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."

I get goose bumps every time I read this account in the Bible.  I think it's because I'm amazed that Jesus left heaven's glory and came to this wicked world. He came for us.  If that's all I knew about Him it would be enough. I love Him so much for the sacrifices He made for a sinner like me. And what a sacrifice it was!

Philippians 2:6-8 " Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

He knows everything about us. He understands every trial every burden and every temptation we face. Because He came, He knows exactly how to help us.

The Bible says... Hebrews 4:15  "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."

What a wonderful Saviour! How could I praise Him enough. I cant!
But... "I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being." Psalm 104:33

The Christmas season is an interesting time of year to me. I often wonder if we are much different from the people back when Jesus was born. Everyone was so busy. The inn's were packed. The cities were crowded with anxious people. I'm assuming this because the decree went forth that the whole world should be taxed. The whole world was thinking about money and very few even noticed the star pointing the way to the most amazing thing that was happening.

Prophecy was being fulfilled.

Matthew 1:23 " Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."

God With us!

How could they have missed it? I think it's the same way we miss Him today. They were preoccupied with the cares of this life and what they thought was important, instead of the miracle happening right under their noses.
I wonder sometimes if we would really be happy and content, if Christmas really were--- all about Jesus?

 Simply Jesus.

I mean, we say things like "Jesus is the reason for the season", but I wonder if we would experience real peace in our hearts like we've never had before, if we would just take a whole day or even a whole season, to think only about Jesus and thank Him for what He did.  What if we really thanked Him for why He came, and what He is about to do… in the very near future. He IS coming again!  But, it will be different this time.

Revelation 1:7-8 " Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

Every eye shall see him.

Everyone will notice Him then. But by then, for many it will be too late. I pray that it will not be you. Why not take this Christmas season to notice Him. Why not give Him just one whole day of undivided attention.

I really do love this time of year. I love the feeling in the air. But, what I love most of all and what I celebrate most of all, is that Jesus came.  For me!  Knowing everything He would endure on our behalf… He chose to come anyway.  This thought overwhelms my heart!

John 10:17-18  "Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.  No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself.  I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.  This commandment have I received of my Father."

How absolutely incredible!

Let us never lose the wonder of it all.

Isaiah 9:6  "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Merry CHRISTmas! I hope it's the best you've ever had!
