A note from The Beautiful For Thee Editor:

The thoughts presented from Dianne on Choice Silver, come from her personal experience from her bed of affliction. She lives with physical debilitation, every day. Pain and weakness are her constant companions. Her words of wisdom are not the empty babblings of pious Christianity, but truth learned first hand. Her faith is real. Most days, that is all she has to lean on. Because of adversity…she is growing strong in the Lord and she inspires me.

May all who read her thoughts, be blessed and challenged.

My God is SO Good

My mind is foggy and jumbled. My body is hurting and worn out. But, my heart is fixed like super glue on the Lord. I don’t care what happens. I don’t care what anyone says. I don’t care how hard the battle gets. I don’t care how fierce the storm. My God is a great God!! He is worthy of all our praise. My Bible says resist the devil and he will flee. That is amazing! I'm resisting........

I Thessalonians 5:16-18Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

I've spent some time praying about what to share with you this week. So many things are on my mind. My heart is heavy for the condition of the world around me, yet hopeful. Hopeful, because God's Word will never change! And… my Great God will never change either!

The Lord has encouraged me with these verses lately. In fact, they have become a life line for me. You know... a life line... one of those things someone throws out to a person who is drowning at sea. When you're drowning and someone throws you help, any sane person will cling to it and be thankful! I am thankful, and I'm asking the Lord to help me make these verses a habit in my everyday life.

Can I challenge you to try and practice doing these verses for one whole day? I promise you will be busy. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Here is your lifeline:

Rejoice evermore...

We take so much for granted don't we? The truth is, there are few things that are certain in this life. We don’t know what tomorrow holds. A husband could die. A child could walk away from God and every good thing their parents have tried to teach them. A family member could become sick. Our house could burn to the ground.

Good things can happen too! A healthy baby can be born. Promotion at work. All our debts paid off. A healthy body. The Bible tells us we won't know about tomorrow. Proverbs 27:1 "Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." But I know the One who does. I am comforted by this truth. I feel safe knowing God holds every moment of my life in His hands. The good moments and the bad moments. God is so good to us.

Just imagine always knowing what will happen tomorrow or next year. When hard times come, I sometimes find it difficult to rejoice. But the Bible tells us to “rejoice evermore...”. I wonder what there is to rejoice about when it seems the devil is winning and there is no light or end in sight in the valley? Right away I have to remind myself that the devil is not winning. He may win some battles but in the end he will be the ultimate loser!

I've read the end of the story. We don’t have to listen to his lies and we certainly don’t have to believe them. The Bible tells us in John 8:44 that he is the father of lies. Expect his lies, but remember these things:

Philippians 4:13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

1 John 4:4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

And James 4:7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

We hear these passages of scripture all the time, but do we really believe them? These verses give us a reason to rejoice. We can rejoice dear friend, because no matter what happens, God's Word will never change! Every promise God has made, He will keep. Every principle He set for us, will stand fast.

The Bible tells us that God cannot lie. Do you believe it? Titus 1:2In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;” I am excited just writing this down because I know it's true. We can whole heartedly depend on God and His Word. Don't give up in the battle! Don’t lay your armor down and don’t let your faith waver. Set your roots deeper in God's Word every day. We have a God who can do anything.

Our eternity is in His hands… and it is safe there. We don’t have to wonder. This is a reason to rejoice! We can also rejoice in the fact that God knows all about us and cares about everything. Good or bad our Heavenly Father is concerned.

The Bible tells us in Psalms 103:14For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.” Psalms tells us God is thinking about us. A lot!

Psalm 139:17-18How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.”

What a gentle and compassionate God. Don’t you just love Him! Don’t you just want to draw close to Him? Don't you just want to be like him? I hope this is encouraging to you. I pray that you can see that no matter what happens, we have a reason to rejoice!

Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King! The hope of all who seek Him, the help of all who find, None other is so loving, so good and kind.

I hope you have a week full of rejoicing!

Amen, and Amen. Good stuff to meditate on. of course, it reminds me of my favorite verses i cling to: Phil. 4:4-8 - especially v. 6 - '... with thanksgiving..' i ask of God, reminded of many times He has taken care of me through so many situations. "... and the PEACE of God " keeps my heart - it doesn't have to make sense, His peace is there and holds me. I can get up out of my recliner and try again!!!

Thank you Dianne....
God used you greatly to speak to my heart today --- Knowing the heartache and burden you are carrying right now, as well as the condition your health is in to read your article - you are rejoicing in our wonderful Lord! Thanks for being a blessing again and again. How we all need to practice this daily - satan wants us to dwell on the negative and is so clever - Christ gives the victory! Thanks for allowing God to use you today in my life-
