A note from The Beautiful For Thee Editor:

The thoughts presented from Dianne on Choice Silver, come from her personal experience from her bed of affliction. She lives with physical debilitation, every day. Pain and weakness are her constant companions. Her words of wisdom are not the empty babblings of pious Christianity, but truth learned first hand. Her faith is real. Most days, that is all she has to lean on. Because of adversity…she is growing strong in the Lord and she inspires me.

May all who read her thoughts, be blessed and challenged.

Is Anybody Really Listening?

"And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not faint." Luke 18:1
According to this verse, God wants us to pray all the time. This verse uses the word always. I decided to look up always…. what a great word! It means... at all times, always, ever. We are to keep praying no matter what.

Obviously we can never pray too much. Sometimes it may seem like nothing is happening when we pray, but have faith! God is always working.

I have a friend that says, God never even dozes off. Sometimes we have to pray a long time before we see an answer. But don't ever give up! There is a man in our church who prayed over forty years for his lost sister, before she got saved. What if he had stopped praying after twenty years? Would she be in Heaven today?

Even when we sleep and when our faith is small, God is working. Even when we neglect to always pray like the verse says, God is still doing everything He said He would do. Just because we can’t see Him working doesn’t mean He isn’t.

We have to remember when we pray, that God can do anything. Do you really believe that? You should, because it’s true!

Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing shall be impossible."

If God spoke everything into existence, surely He can take care of our problems, carry our burdens, and hear our cry for help!

Here is the parable:

Luke 18:2-8 "Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of my adversary. And he would not for awhile: but afterward he said within himself, though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest her continual coming weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?"

God is nothing like this unjust judge. He wants us to pray and pray and pray. It's ok. Tell Him everything.

I Peter 5:7 "Casting ALL your care upon him; for he careth for you." God cares about us. This overwhelms my heart. Because really, who am I? I want to trust Him more. I want all my faith to rest in Him every moment.

“Jacob won the victory not by wrestling, but by clinging. We, too, will not win the victory in prayer until we give up our own will, and throw our arms around our Father's neck in clinging faith.” J.R. Miller

What truth! Keep on praying dear friends! Our God hears and in His time….He wants to answer.
