A note from The Beautiful For Thee Editor:

The thoughts presented from Dianne on Choice Silver, come from her personal experience from her bed of affliction. She lives with physical debilitation, every day. Pain and weakness are her constant companions. Her words of wisdom are not the empty babblings of pious Christianity, but truth learned first hand. Her faith is real. Most days, that is all she has to lean on. Because of adversity…she is growing strong in the Lord and she inspires me.

May all who read her thoughts, be blessed and challenged.

On Whom Do You Rely?

About 3:00 A.M. I woke up to a funny sound. Normally my husband would check on funny sounds, but he is gone for his job, so I got up to do it. Knowing that my human protection was not there, I felt a little fearful. It only lasted a moment because the Lord reminded me of II Timothy 1:7 " For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. "

You never know how you will react until something actually happens. It's always easy to boast after everything turns out well. I didn’t know when I got up to check on the noises of the night, what I would find. It turned out to be nothing but stormy weather, tapping rather loudly on the windows.

As I laid back down, I couldn’t help but thank God for His protection and for the comfort His Word can bring. I am so thankful for the seemingly odd situations in life that cause me
to depend on the scripture I have hid in my heart. These things make my faith a little stronger every time. It's good to memorize scripture and hide it in our heart. It is comforting when it comes back to you, just when you need it most.

But really, what good is scripture, if it's not real and alive in our every day life, or in our every day problems, big or small? I mean... what good is memorizing Philippians 4:8, if I never "think on these things"?

This was a very small thing that happened. Almost so small it doesn’t seem worth mentioning at all. But I am convinced more than ever, that God is interested in even the very small things in our life.

Matthew 10:30 " But the very hairs of your head are all numbered." Not even the closest person to me is one bit interested in how many hairs are on my head. But the God who created everything is not just interested, He knows! He cares about what our reaction will be even in the small situations. Because all those little faith building times, will help our faith grow for the times when we need faith, for the big things.

God cares if we trust Him and depend on His Word. And...He is watching us. Psalm 33:13 "The Lord looketh from heaven; He beholdeth all the sons of men."

When the Lord looks from heaven, I want Him to find me looking toward Him and trusting His Word. No matter what!
