A note from The Beautiful For Thee Editor:

The thoughts presented from Dianne on Choice Silver, come from her personal experience from her bed of affliction. She lives with physical debilitation, every day. Pain and weakness are her constant companions. Her words of wisdom are not the empty babblings of pious Christianity, but truth learned first hand. Her faith is real. Most days, that is all she has to lean on. Because of adversity…she is growing strong in the Lord and she inspires me.

May all who read her thoughts, be blessed and challenged.

Only Believe

1 Corinthians 10:13 "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

This verse is awesome! If we would only believe it. Some may "feel" like no one could possibly understand their temptation and trial, but take comfort in the fact that no matter what has happened or is happening to you, it is common. Someone, somewhere, has, is, or will be facing, the same trial and temptation as you are facing. The devil who is the father of lies likes to make us think that we are all alone and somehow the exception. Don’t listen to him!

Hebrews 13:5 tells us that God will never leave us or forsake us.

1 Corinthians 10:13 also tells us that God is faithful. What a wonderful, loving and merciful God.

Psalm 103:14 " For he knoweth our frame; and remembereth that we are dust."

If you think about it, you can't get much lower than dust. So even if you "feel" like you're nothing more than dust, this is an excellent day to rejoice in the Lord because that’s what the Bible says we are, and God loves us anyway!

If the Bible says that God will not allow us to be tempted above "that ye are able", then we should just believe it, and do what ever it takes to find the "way to escape" provided for us by God.
It sure seems like God asks so little from us and gives us so much in return.

Matthew 4 tells the account of how the devil came to tempt Jesus. It is worth reading over and over. Who better to learn from than Jesus. We don’t have to be, nor should we be, satisfied with just getting by and barely making it through our trials and temptations in the Christian life.

Psalm 17:15
"As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness."

Jesus is our example in every way. We are to pattern our life after Him. We can be satisfied only when we are acting, talking, walking, responding and thinking like Jesus. When in the valley of temptation remember...

Psalm 84:6
"Who passing through the valley of Ba'ca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools."

You never know, maybe tomorrow or next week one of your friends or family members will be facing the same temptations that you have.
It will be so worth it to be able to say I've been where you are, and this is how God and His Word helped me.

Temptation: Trial, a being put to the test
Common: Ordinary
Suffer: To give up, let go, leave, allow, let
Above: over, beyond, more than
Escape: an egress, way out, exit
Bear: endure

As long as we are in this world, we are exposed to temptations and we need to always be on our watch against them.

Love and prayers.
Dianne

I just finished reading once again, this solid truth you shared here. What blesses me most Dianne, is that you are a good example of what you are sharing. You live everyday with a body that is not well. Not everyone knows the seriousness of what you face. You personally are learning from the trials of life and sharing this choice silver with us. It it true...that the greatest lessons and the best changes for our lives, happen in the furnace of trial. We often hate the heat but when it is over we are thankful in more ways than one! You are MORE than a blessing to me. I love you Di.
